The Malignant Ginger

The last supper. Evil Pork Pies.

The day has finally come and yesterday morning I had last my chemo session. It has been a roller coaster 4 months and by no means at least finished – I still have surgery, radiotherapy and will be on medication for the next ten years. But it is a stepping stone towards getting better. And I feel like a totally different person – wiser, stronger, looking at things with clarity and appreciating life in a whole new way. In some weird way I wouldn’t change a thing. This blog post is verging on cringe worthy so I’ll stop the cheese fest very shortly but just wanted to say a humongous THANK YOU to my mum, family, friends and online/Facebook friends who have shown nothing but kindness, support, generosity and lovely messages/comments, not to mention many lovely gifts. You have no idea how much this has helped me through and made me smile, I feel like the luckiest person alive to know you lot!

My amazing dear mum is took me yesterday, she was there for the first chemo so it was very fitting that she saw me out in style. Our song for the day was After The Gold Rush by Neil Young. It’s a very nostalgic song for me with poignant lyrics and for some reason has been stuck in my head for the last few sleepless nights (thank you steroids)!
